Globalization in theory could be a great idea. The concept of freedom in trade and the free movement of goods and knowledges is worthy to reckon, as well as the breaking down the cultural barriers. But in practice it is very different because:
a) The globalization process puts the economy interests before the needs of the human beings.
b) The free movement and the free market are a fancy because there are no equal opportunities for all people or countries.
c) The global economy does not put any value on morality, only pursues profits.
d) Companies do not respond to the true needs of the possible consumers. On the contrary, the hypothetical needs of the consumers are created by the companies and advertising.
e) On the other hand, the more we consume or spend does not mean the better life.

Under my point of view, the globalization is a modern method of colonization by using the power of the multinational corporations. The impose the need of consumerism and an unique style of living.

And to top it off, the overspending of energy that the globalization process and consumerism involves increases our carbon footprint in the planet and spoils its marvellous enviroment.

Maybe a more awareness about what globalization involves would be more useful.
