2.What did you learn about life in New York from
East 43rd Street ?
3. Which character do you like best or least? Why?
4. Do you think East 43rd Street is a good title?
Make up an alternative.
5. Imagine you are making a film of East 43rd Street.
Which actors would you choose to play the main
characters? Would you make any changes to the
story?
6. Do you like how the story ends? If not, could you write a short alternative ending?

I don’t like very much the detective stories, I prefer the adventure or historical novel but finally I enjoyed the book because is easy to read and when finish each page I want to know what happens next. Probably I would recommend it.

About the title of the book, I think is a good title because the writer talk about New York and describe the city and the life style. But I propose other titles:
“The secret of the stolen jewels”
“Another way to spend Christmas”
“The mysterious blonde woman”

I like the end of the story, but If I had to write an optional ending I would probably write that Angela and Robert Lake get their goal and collect the compensation for their jewels and escape to a Caribbean country and maybe later I'll write a second part of the book.

1. The book was quite good. I loved it, above all film noir style. Also the American accent was very useful to understand American series. I would highly recommend it.

2. I think life is very busy but also exciting. It's crowded and perhaps is difficult to make new friends. There are a lot of people but in the end almost all of them have lonely lives.

3. The character I like the best is, of course, Nathan Marley. Because when I was a child I wanted to be a private detective and right now if I met him in a pub I think he would be a good company while we drink a good Scotch shot.
The character I don't like at all is Robert Lake. I think is one of the weak point of the book, his character is unbelievable and lacking in personality.

4. I don't like the title. Because if you don't know the street it won't give you any information and you won't know that is set in New York. Other better title would be “The femme fatale and the drunk” or “Nobody gives anything for nothing”.

5. Nathan Marley: Jack Nicholson, Angela Lake: Scarlett Johansson, Rober Lake: Bill Gates, Gloria: Jennifer Lopez and Captain Oldenberg: Daniel Defoe.

6. The ending is very predictable so I would write this alternative ending:

I was again in McFadden's Bar with a lonely Scotch, the place was dark and full of heavy smokers smoke, when I saw this long legs you cannot forget. It was Angela Lake and she was crying. She sat below me and told me that she had left her husband, it was all his fault and she was sorry for everything.
After a long conversation we were very drunk and I offered give her a lift. She smiled coquettishly.
After all Santa had not forgotten about me.

Yes, I do like the book. I´ve red it
twice. I imagen the life in New York,
and those Christmas days with all the
characters and I like them. Yes, I´d recomend it to everyone who likes detective´s reading to.
When I read it I could see New York is a city too big and too crowded. The story has been writen in Christas
time so the snow is a beautiful picture in those days. But life is sametimes hard for many people and sometimes is fun. It depends on.
The best character for me, is Mr. Marley, the private investigator
because is a peaceful and clever person. He is quiet and does what he wants and considers is good for him and his friends. The worst character I think is Mr. Lam

1. I liked very much reading this book, i like action films and readings. I'd recommend it, so i think that is interesting and entertaining, as said Claudia in her comentary I wanted to know what will happen in the next page.

2. I think that tehe life in New York is too agitated and stressful. The traffic is slow and there are many congestion in stress. The city is too crowded and maybe dangerous.

3. My prefer character, obviously is Nat Marley because he is clever and intelligent and think that he is generous and a good person although he is a little unhappy and lonely person.

4. I don't like the title of the book because facts doesn't happen only in Marley's office in 43rd street. I propose call the book "the lake`s Mistake"

5. Nat Marley: Andy García
Stella delgado. Salma Hayeck
Jorge Blaney: Clint eastwood.
Angela Lake: Angelina Jolie
Robert Lake: The actor who play
The Teacher Snape in Harry Potter.

6. I liked the end since the good won the battle.

En mi respuesta 6 hay un error. Cuando usé below (debajo) quise decir beside (junto a). Llevaba teniendo ese error mucho tiempo hasta que una amiga me lo dijo.

Gracias,

Juan
