Part B: 3

Why are the other 2 sentences incorrect?
Answer: Sentence 1 isn't correct because Part B talks about designer labels and status, but it doesn't say whether people like them or not.
Sentence 4 isn't correct because Part A doesn't mention the age of the people targeted by fashion designers.

Exercise 2b.

1. Designer labels began with Charles Frederick Worth in France, when he moved there from England in 1846. He began to sew labels into the clothes that he created.
2. They were very enthusiastic so they queued outside the shop for up to 12 hours to buy the clothes. Some people even camped outside the shop.
3. It was trying to find out whether wearing designer labels affecdts your status and your job prospects.
4. It concluded that designer labels are seen as sign of superior status.
5. Because male peacocks have beautiful tails that attract female peacocks, which is like somebody wearing a designer label to improve his status.
Whereas the peacock can't fake their status by wearing designer goods.
