AND, BUT, OR
-and is used to join two similar ideas: I like tea or coffee.
-but is used to contrast two ideas: I like coffee, but not tea.
-or is used in two ways:
1. To join to alternative ideas: I don't like tea or coffee.
2. To express two possible ideas: You can have tea or coffee.
THEN
- Then is used with a verb phrase. It can go at the beginning or in the middle of a sentence.
- Example:
- I have a bath. Then I go to bed.
- I have a bad and then I go to bed.
- After that is an alternative to then.
AFTER /BEFORE are prepositions and opposites.
- They are used with a noun or a verb phrase.
- Example:
- I always have a cup of tea after lunch.
- I always have a cup of tea after I have lunch.
