Listening: Education in the UK


Here's a listening about the topic we're dealing with in class.


Matt Morton, British Council International Student of the Year2009, talks about getting a PhD in the UK from an American perspective.


Click on each video and answer the following comprehension questions:

hi Elena,
1-He wanted to build a well class education.UH,has amazing institutions with an important intellectual legacy and it was a tottally new enviroment.
2-Te programme is shorter and more flexible.
3-With scholarships and serving meals at the pub.
4-He got involved with a community.

1- He wanted to build a well class education.
- Uk institutions are amazing and has an important historical legacy.
2 - The programe is short, intense and flexible.
- The relathionships between teachers and pupils are good and fluently.
- There are many buildings.
3 - Working by night in pubs, for example.
4 - People usually are closed, and the comunication is difficult, but he never mind because he is very busy with his studies.
