From David to you all.

                                                                                                                            9 Feb 2010
Dear class,

I just want to take one last opportunity to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed working with you during the past few months.  You really are an exceptionally bright group, and I’m very proud to have taught you.  Elena’s classes were my favorites ones to attend each week, and this is largely thanks to you—your outgoingness, your facility of conversation, your sense of humor, and your intellectual curiosity.  Case in point: many of you will likely spend hours trying effectively to translate this letter J

Please recognize that your education does not begin and end in the classroom.  When you do not have the opportunity to interact with a native speaker of English, you must be resourceful and seek other opportunities: English music, films, news articles, television programs, and books.  Go to Huelva’s public library, where I am now, and take a look at the “Libros en otros idiomas” section.  It’s more amply stocked than I would have imagined.  But in any event, perhaps the point I’m trying to make is that you and you alone will decide how well you learn the English language—or anything else in life.  I wish you the best, and I really am immensely proud of all of you.

Best,
David Paulk
